PhD Position in European Law available.
We are looking for an outstanding PhD researcher who is interested to analyse the legal framework of the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI), with a particular focus on the admissibility test. The researcher should have a strong background in European Law. The selected candidate will contribute to the execution of the research project “Popular Sovereignty vs. the Rule of Law? Defining the Limits of Direct Democracy” (LIDD). The project is funded by the European Research Council Consolidator Grant (ERC-2017-CoG 772160) and is led by Prof. Daniel Moeckli. LIDD aims to assess where the legal limits of direct democracy should be drawn and how compliance with these limits should be reviewed. For more details see the Job advertisment [here].
